Issues with new head unit and Infinity Gold...

I have a '98 Grand Cherokee that was vandalized and the head unit stolen... I've put in a new head unit (aftermarket kenwood), but no sound. I've heard that there is something you have to do with the ground from the amp and the head unit, but don't know what that is. Anyone know how to make this work? I have a harness connecting the kenwood to the factory harness, and there are wires that are not hooked up, a black that seems to be the steering wheel controls and a small white double connector with a purple/black and a black/white wire. any suggestions please send to nicholman@gmail.com

thanks!

Haynes manual my friend. Or do they not have a wiring diagram?

Ummmm, that black on sounds important for sure. But if it is coming on but no sound, I guess thats not it.

Are you getting no sound or no power?

If I recall correctly, there is one "trigger" wire that needs to be connected to the remote amp turn on wire from the aftermarket harness.

What is happening is that the amp turns off when there is no radio signal, so that would give no sound.
