Hey everyone I have a 93 grand Cherokee limited and I've been trying to pass emissions for the last month. Tested it 3 times and sunk quite a bit of work into it. My last testing I pass everything except my CO% was 2.18, replaced my cat and now I failed everything except what I failed before. Driving my crazy. Any iOS?

Is the engine oil new?
Airfilter new?
Plugs, wires, cap and rotor new?

Have you replaced the o2 sensor? or is it sill original?

v8 or 6?
If 6 check so your manifold isnt cracked, that will really mess with the numbers

I have a 93 Laredo that passes with flying colors every time. It's hard to say what might be throwing your numbers off since really anything that affects the way the engine runs will increase emissions. A good tune up and a can of injector cleaner would probably help but the best advice on passing an emissions test is to drive the Jeep around a bit to get everything really hot first. Run it up the highway a bit and straight back to the testing center.

Cheat . I failed a dozen times in a 87 Ford Escort , decades ago (BC,Can.). Was told to put $5 premium (10 today) and a small bottle of methyl hydrate when almost on E , get it good and hot , go for the test . I was shocked when it passed , but , it did . 2 days later get stopped at a road side , busted WS , non working signals , e-brake wouldn't hold on the level , lol . Got a ticket to get it inspected , gave car away a few days later  .
