So I have to ask, since I am thinking about those same tires (the Coopers) on the same rims, any problems with a 285 on the stock 7 inch rims? I run the spacers already and on a 5.5 lift, so we have about the same clearance on the vehicles

no problems whatsoever with 285/75R16 on the stock rims. i've lowered the tire pressure down to 20psi and didn't encounter any problems. next time, gonna lower it down to 15psi and see what happens.

been so busy with training lately. will finally have some time this weekend to pull my 5.5" and move it to my 4"

Where was that trail you were stuck on? I moved down from Fairbanks a year ago. I had been told that there is a trail behind Wainwright that tanks can get stuck in.

I got my lifted Wrangler back behind Olnes Pond. My father-in-law has a mine claim back in there, and a huge mud pit to drive through to get to it. The TJ was sitting flat on the skid plate before I gave up and allowed them to pull me out with the Cat they rented to dig trenches. Was fun!

You may still see my Wrangler driving around up there. I left it with someone who fixed it up a bit more and sold it. Should be a dark, metallic red, tan interior, black soft top, chrome bumpers, d44 rear axle, 33's and a 4.5" long arm lift.

Oh, and BTW, nice build! I just got a 5.9 a few weeks ago. Loving it so far. Been too long since I could work on a project like this. It's fun having to scrape and scavenge for parts. My TJ I could order anything from at least 5 different manufacturers. This one is more challenging.

yea, there are def some trails on post that should not be traveled unless it's been frozen over. i was on one of those trails and i shouldn't even have been there.

heh, wish i could find your wrangler, but there is 5x lifted wranglers in every parking lot up here in alaska (one of the reasons why i didn't want a wrangler. everyone has one).

as some of you guys know, i just purchased another zj to pull parts from. i have total of 16 hours i can work on my jeep at the shop. i have a lot of things to do, so i'm making a detailed schedule for it. i'm posting it here for logging purposes. on friday, the zj has to come off the lift, so i can't remove the axles yet. it doesn't have to start; i can roll it to a storage area outside.

here is a list of items i plan to pull. if anyone can think of other things to pull, let me know:

4x fixed CAs
4x upper CAs
tie rod / tie rod ends
steering stabilizer

shocks
hub assemblies

vic (my vic has 'coolant sensor error')

before i joined, i thought alaska was some crazy place that i never ever wanted to go to. well, now i don't want to leave. alaska is amazing. yea, the winter does suck. yea, it gets really cold. but this really is the last frontier and you can get a sense of being an adventurer within 15 miles of the city. i like being at a place knowing that there is a 99% chance that no human being as ever been there.

but then again, i'm going to colorado next june. very very very excited about that too. all my life, i've been hearing about how beautiful colorado is.
