I want to buy the Iron Rock 3.5" kit for my ZJ.
Can anyone tell me if the kit is complete? What I mean is, will I need anything else? I will get a poly bushing kit for all the spots not covered in the lift kit.
Will I have to cut/drill/weld anything?
The Jeep will be used most of the time on the street, with some light to medium trail riding thrown in occasionally to find camping spots.
Thanks,
TK

I would get UC coils to put in the rear...the way that kit works is you move your existing front coils to the rear...those are probably fairly sagged though now.
Aside from that it is complete no drilling, all bolton.

I have the IRO 3.5 on my zj. The kit is pretty complete. You might want a rear trackbar after you install it. I bought one ...but still havent installed it. Im happy with the kit. For the money I think its a good deal. But Ive only ever ridden in my lifted zj. So I dont have anything to compare it too. My jeep sits level with the stock 6 banger coils in back. But Im thinking that UCs might have been alittle better. But what am I saying.... Im already planning my next lift. " To infinity and beyond!" OK so Id better replace the stock tires first.

Have you guys had to put control arms in the jeep after the IRO kit? I know they are not required but are reccomneded. How is the ride without them? With them?

at 3.5" the stock arms are fine. You have a v8 so you will get at least 3.5" of lift in the rear with your stock front springs. Your front D/s may take a dump in a couple months though.
I would make sure everything that isnt being replaced by the lift kit is 100% good-to-go, or you may have a surprise meeting with Mr. DW.

When I lifted my ZJ with a budget boost, within a year, many of the original control arm bushings failed. I have heard that when you change the geometries, old bushings hardened for one area of use, blow out. This was my experience. So, keep an eye on control arm bushings after the lift, especially the front uppers.
Adjustable track bars, front and rear, are ideal. Or, you can buy track bars that are made for that exact lift to save $$. I highly recommend getting the front trackbar kit with a new bracket that allows the track bar more flex range.
If you are going to off road much, front sway bar discos are a must IMHO. With the front sway bar disconnected, the vehicle rides a lot better, has better traction, and is just more fun. If the kit does not have discos, then save up for those too.
BTW, Mr DW is death wobble. Lots of threads about DW.

I don't have the v8 I have the I6. What are my front D's exactly? Sorry I am new. I'm pretty sure the IRO kit comes with an adjustable front trac bar as well.

My first post was to the OP, original poster. He has a v8. With the I6 the stock front springs will net you about 3" in the rear from what i hear.
Front d/s is for front Drive Shaft.
IRO has two 3.5 kits, you want the more complete one, which does include the front trac bar and drop bracket

That's the one I plan on buying. I notice that when I go to buy the kit I have the option to upgrade to quick discos for 90 bucks but when I just buy the discos with out the kit its 160. Should I save the extra 90 bucks and buy them right away or can I go a little without them? I'm more of a "weekend warrior" mainly go out on the weekends with my friends and just have a good time in the woods. I would say I do 70 percent driving on road and 30 percent off.

Its a convenience, I opted for disconnecting the sway bar with a torx bolt and wrench and ziptying it up out of the way. Saved me 90 bucks, cost me 5 mins before wheeling and 5 mins after to reconnect.

How does the quality of this kit compare to other kits for around the same money?

I havent tried any other kits. My only complaint with the IRO is my drivers side coil rubbing on the double shear trackbar bracket, but a grinder pretty much solved that
