good morning everyone, This all started off yesterday on my way home from work when my check engine light came on and the jeep would not hold cruising speed. So i come to a stop at the next red light and found the idle to be smooth and consistent, then the light turned green and it became very hesitant almost like it was running out of fuel (had half a tank at the time) It seems the problem is mainly between aproximately 10 and 75% throttle, as when it is idling it is fine, and when more then 75% throttle is applied it seems to fight through the bogging sputtering and popping sounds that it would otherwise make.
Yeah.. im aware and know how to use the scanner, im just stuck at work with no access to anything like that. I just want to be able to get the code, somewhat hoping its the tps that i may be able to disconnect and get it home (35miles) in limp mode
I'm thinking throttle position sensor . I just had a little issue with my 97 Cherokee , rather , bought with it . Symptoms sound the same . My cat's toast to the point of annoying rattle . Works fine with the TPS issue resolved . Maybe a little harder on gas than it should be Cat's next on the list
