Interior lights flashing / blinking

This is happening to us --'97 Jeep GC.
While driving the interior lights flash and door locks cycle lock and unlock.
HELP!
Tonight, the interior lights would not go off when parked.
I pulled the interior light relay.
The door lock cycling when driving is hard to figure out.
...very hard to trace down.

The interior lights could be a result of a bad headlight switch. a bad sauder joint on the unit often leads to lights flickering either on the dash or above. the locks...no clue.

Hi
I take you have auto door lock/ unlock on? I would say you have a door switch shorting or wiring to it is faulty and it's shorting out.

Interior Lights flashing 97 Jeep GC

REPLACE the door switch !!
We have seen many posts that say that the door needs to be slammed shut
so the lights will go out.
Part source: Dealer $16, or Autozone or Rock Auto $4-to $6-

X1 bad headlight switch. Try NOT using the auto-on headlight setting.. just the on and off settings. I had the same problem with lights and odometer blinking, my headlight switch has an open circuit.

Solved !!!
Basically you just remove the " Window Liftgate Ajar Sensor ", snap back in place using pliers, and care fully crimp metal edges to hold down from poping out of place again. P.S. some dealers and auto parts has discontinued this part and it can only be found at a junk yard but this will fix it guaranteed.

Good writeup and excellent pics! Not sure which switch it is but I referenced all liftgate switches and it looks like they are still available but they are not cheap. Added your fix to my favorites.
