I installed 2 of the "fail safe" and they stuck in the open position. The little teeth caught the edge of the valve. It left the thermo open and never warmed up. It threw a code after 200 miles. Both where brand new. I have a 180 deg. With mods the 195 pinged to bad.

Kind of going to revive this thread a little. This is exactly what my temp gauge reads all the time. Get hot air when it's cold (10 degrees out) within 10 minutes...was a desert vehicle and still in 100 degrees outside it still ran like this. During a day of wheeling I had 1 overflow of the coolant.
