Interchangeable doors??

Couldnt find sufficient information on exactly what year of doors can be swapped and bolted on with no gaps or alignment problems. I just picked up a 94 Grand Cherokee 5.2 and the PO trashed the drivers door. Im going to be junkyard shopping tomorrow and I would appreciate it if anyone had some input before i buy the wrong door! Let me know!!!

All exterior skins and mounts are the same. Interior door panels are 93-95 & 96-98 specific.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

My 93 and 94 had specific door wiring harnesses (has the stupid torx bolt in the middle), not sure if the 95s are the same way.

Current: 98 TJ, 33" TSLs
Past: 94 ZJ, built for the rocks

93-95 doors have a different electrical connector than the 96-98 has.
A newer (96-98) will fit the older ZJ but you will have to mess around with the wires to make it work with the rest of the jeep.

Thanks guys. Picked up a complete door today for 150 bucks. It had a piece of sheet metal riveted to the inside door jam, must of had the same problem as me.... The door sags but not bad at all. I think ill be replacing the pins to keep the latch from getting destroyed. Although i am lifting up when i shut the door, its still possible ill trash the sheet metal if it doesnt close correctly. I think i got a decnt deal though!!

was it at least the same color? 150 for a door seems high to me.

150 does sound really high. I paid 50$ for a hood and a door last year. They weren't the same color but the whole jeep is getting repainted after the door gets put on.

Edit: that was 50$ for both.

I have a full set of doors in Jersey. I'd be happy to get $150 for all 4

Check craigslist first.

... Funny I'd not like to give a $150.00 per door either.. But we only have one wrecking yard in town now and the prick that runs it has Stopped all the fun. I'll bet he is $200.00 per door. I called him today I'm wanting a fuel pump and I just wanted to get the tank along with it . The prick ask me $100.00 for the tank and another 100.00 for the fuel pump.... Used... So I called over to a town west of us that there is a big yard at .. That guy says .. I got $30.00 for the last pump I had and He'd just as soon give me the tank as take it apart.
..... So I guess I'm saying shop around.

It's funny, salvage yards by me would probably charge more than that. It's almost not worth going to a salvage yard anymore. But it also could be because of it being a drivers door. I just checked one of my local wreckers. They had 15 passenger doors and zero drivers doors.

Yes I see many ZJ's with a replaced drivers door. O well I can't get my money back, I just have to work with what I have.

I think $150 sound cheap..
Here they want $200 for a door and if I wanted a complete set of doors the hood and liftgate it would be $1200..
