Intake Manifold

For you experts...is the right one I need..I can't tell if it is a 2bbl or 4bbl.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...7&autoview=sku
I have been told to get the 2bbl...Hunter you even suggested a Mopar one from Summit or something like that...I couldn't find one from Mopar. I also need the mopar pcm/ecu.

Click on the Applications tab on that web page and you will see that it is a 4-barrel and is for a carbureted engine.

I would think you need something more like this: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

is this one just a replacement or will it increase hp and tq. I am being undecided because the one I saw says performer and the one you show says nothing....just plain. I just want to be sure. I mean...all the threads and articles I have seen say either a intake from KRC and some say from Summit and others say Mopar...I just want better mpg's and more hp and tq and want to get the right one is all.

more hp usually means more fuel....

maybe if you went back to an old school 318 without electronics and other 1970 plus stuff you could get 20 plus miles to a gallon

that old stuff got decent mileage plus it would pin you to the seatback if needed

i just got the hughes engines modified edelbrock air gap intake. http://www.hughesengines.com/partDet...p?partID=12869
i'll let you know what i think after the heads and rockers get here so i can do my entire top end at once.

that second one you linked to is the mopar performance m-1 intake, most people are rather satisfied with it, though it does shift your powerband up a bit.

Since this seems to be a little confusing, I would just call up Summit Racing and ask their tech department.

just saw this thread. I'm running late for work. I'll get back to it later.

Nash, that is not the right one. Notice there are no holes for the injectors.

The one that Rat posted will work but it's says off road only meaning it won't pass emissions.

See if Kolak can still get the M1. You still might get one from the dealer too. Probably the EGR version though. No prpblem, it comes with an EGR block off plate.

I did find this one. It includes all gaskets & bolts which you will need. Also you need the 2bbl http://www.socaldakota.com/performan...manifolds.html

Also KRC still sells them. Pretty shure this is the right kit. Check with them though. http://www.krcperformance.com/krc/in...mart&Itemid=26

I'm sure there are a few other places still selling it as well but it might take some searching to find them.

I sent Dan Arcand an email and he replied showing me the one that you suggested Colorado 5.9 (Mopar M-1). it was $539 though. I already knew of KRC but wanted to get one for cheaper and also heard bad remarks about the service and slowness in delivery. I am wondering...this mod will really kill mpg's. I only get 11 now...and everyone has told me that I should not have lost mpg's with the current mods. Yes it has been cleaned and even new o2 sensors, along with plugs and wires. Obviously I want more power but not at the loss of that much mpg's. Thanks for the help and patience.

air intakes, heads, exhaust, intake manifolds, etc.. are usually referred to as "free" mods, they don't usually set you back mpg, or do so just slightly. cams, injectors, and ecu flashes will usually cost you fuel efficiency.

your extra weight in stereo equipment, extra draw on the alternator, bigger tires, and lift will all effect your mileage more than the current mods you have done will increase power to accomodate it.

i lose about 1-1.5mpg in the city when i have my sub box in.

I am taking my snow tires off this week and putting the all seasons back on and seeing what that does....plus I will be checking the iac on the tb to double check. Other than that...I heard a mopar performance ecu will give you more power and also help in the loss of mpg's. Just not sure about spending $500 pluss on a new intake manifold....I wonder what gains that would be anyways...whether it is worth the price or not.
