INSTALLATION...transmission cooler

Just wondering about the installation of a transmission cooler? I'm going to be getting one soon, and was wondering if it was something I could do on my own!?

So does anybody have a write up or a "how to" on this matter?
Thanks for the help.

Definately something you can do on your own.

Some people will tell you differently, based on where they live, but if you live in a climate where it tends to get cold during the winter, then you'll be well off to let the radiator do it's job of bringing the tranny fluid up to operating temperature faster.. which basically means, you will splice the cooler you buy in to the existing lines which go in to the transmission. The transmission has the cooler built in, and although it's cooling properties are insufficient for heavy duty towing, being next to the radiator helps bring it up to temp faster.

Essentially, you'll have a line coming from the transmission, going to the radiator. Then another line coming out of the radiator, going in to your tranny cooler, then another line coming out of your tranny cooler splicing in to the other side of the line. You can find a kit on bulkpart.com or at autozone which will allow you to splice off the existing cooler line. Sounds complicated but when you get in there you'll see what I mean.
