Can anyone verify that the outside axle seals from Superior will not fit with the CV style axle? How much room is there between the end of the axle and the CV boot?

I've been wondering the same.

I haven't tried myself, but I have seen them installed and they stick out an inch or two beyond the axle tubes. Compare that to where the CV joint boot sits on the inner axle shaft and I don't see how it could fit.

I was thinking that too Arlo. I talked to the guys at Superior and they said that face that has the grease zerk is 0.77" long. He said you would need at least 1" of space between the end of the axle and the start of the CV boot and I don't think I have that.
What he did say was that most WJ guys do a TJ axle swap to U-joints then put these tube seals. But a set of new axles from them are ~$700. I think it's just easier to stay out of the water. |
