Thats a lie in itself.
For years performance guys have been trying to get the air into the cylinder as cleanly as possible. You want the straightest, least resistant path possilbe to the cylinder. Why do you think in drag racing they have those tall wacky manifolds with straight runners. (I'm not talknig about superchargers so don't correct me).
In short, using a tornado has the same effect as flushing an orange down your toilet. Plugs it all up.

Ahh I guess thats why it saves gas. Holds it up longer which this causes less air then thus causing less gas usage
