Idle air control code

I have a 96 grand Cherokee limited w/5.2L and the check engine light keeps coming on and the code is saying idle air control. We'll I have replaced the idle air control motor/ sensor and the Check engine light still won't go off. I have turned into a big jeep guy since owning this Cherokee so please give me some feed back helping me figure out this problem.

Did you unhook the battery when you replaced the sensor? Try doing that. If that doesn't work, it's possible that the sensor is bad out of the box if you did not use a Mopar sensor.
The parts store sensors are a gamble and a lot are faulty right from the start.

Unhook the battery for a few minutes to clear the code. If it comes back then you'll have to do more trouble shooting. Keep in mind that the computer need a bit of driving time to adjust to the new sensor.
