identifying a 5.9

is there any way to tell if the jeep i just bought has a 5.9? its a 93 limited and supposedly had a 5.9 swaped into it, is there some identifying marks or numbers? had a 5.2 originally

Only way I know is check the casting numbers on the block. To get more info go to allpar.com. They have almost every bit of info on any Chrysler product ever made, including Jeep.

1998 ZJ 5.9L 122k miles - DD, 242 swap, 3.5" RE, 32" BFG M/T, safari rack, roof-mounted lights, custom steel front bumper with hitch reciever, 10k winch :)
2004 WJ 4.7L 107k miles - her daily driver, 2" daystar BB with scorpion shocks.. not too bad! stuffed 265/65/17 General Grabber AT2'S

Driver's side of the engine block, towards the back, there should be either a 318 or a 360 cast into it.

Check the diameter of the front or rear seals - shoot measure the width of the round indent on the end of the oil pan.
