I think im missing the wiring to my Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor!

I have been wondering exactly what this clip connects to that sits directly behind the oil filter. I have found out that it connects to the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor but i can't find the wiring coming from it. I have searched just about everywhere for it and haven't found it yet. My question to you is will my Jeep even drive minus the CKP??? It drives great, no sputtering at all. Im baffled

If the wiring/plug for the CPS in not plugged in, it won't run at all.

I heard some GC's were equipped with a Oil Level Sensor??? Is the wiring for this by the pan somewhere?

I have no idea what you are trying to say. The CKP is back near the bell housing and its plugged in or your Jeep would not start. Are you saying the connection you have in your hand is for the CKP? You cant find what wiring?

Ive read your post 5 times and I cant figure out what you are saying.

Im trying to to figure out what this connector goes to. If the Jeep won't run without the CKP being plugged in, thats out of the picture. Maybe it goes to the Oil Level Sensor, Im askin where it's located

Do all your gauges work??

The only thing I know in that area are the oil pressure sender and the coolant temp sensor.

This is definitely the plug for the oil LEVEL sensor, which were not installed on very many Jeeps, or at least I've never seen one! But the wiring is there on the 93-95 ZJs.

impuresoul2k3, I love the idea of the Oil Level Sensor. For me, having a GC is all about those extra little touches. My 96 has no provision for one, or I'd be checking the wrecker for them (along with all the other planned upgrades).

Does it work OK? Does it "warn you" if you're on a serious angle?

It usually only throws a false reading on an incline if the oil level starts getting a little low. If its full I never have a problem with it.

oil level is the side of the pan and the wiring in loomed into the starter wires. that looks like the oil pressure sender near the distributor
