I need a new Catalytic Converter.

Hey everyone well my catalytic converter is making some awful rattling so I think its time for a new one I'm just wondering which companies everyone has experiences with and would recommend for me to purchase to replace it.

I've delt mostly with Walker, but not a whole lot. CC's are expensive though no matter who you go with.

Never had a Walker, but Magnaflow has always done me good.

The cat may still be good though. Could just be the heat shield.

If it doesn't turn out to be just the heat shield, I have Magnaflow converters available at excellent prices. They are very efficient and the quality is excellent. PM me for pricing.

you can get a universal, if you have somebody to weld in an 02 bung, than you gotta fit the thing.

I picked up a Walker direct fit cat off Amazon.com a couple months back. They were running a $30 mail in rebate special, but I'm not sure if they still are. Unless you are good at welding, I'd recommend a direct replacement. I'd also recommend using a cutting wheel and air chisel to get the old one off. Getting the old cat off was way more work than I anticipated.

Definately not the heat sheild I got under the jeep and the heat shield isn't rattling although it is not in the greatest shape. When I tap on the CC it makes noise like the inside fell apart. The walker CC's seem to be around $150 locally they have a bosal for $129.

I got a walker direct fit. Ran me around $130. Can't really comment on it though because it hasn't been installed yet.

that link u posted is a good deal, as we stated above direct fit will be your best bet and at that price I would get it rather than waiting 5 days on the ebay cat, but that flowmaster for 99 bucks sure paired up with my magnaflow muffler for a superb sounding exhuast setup.

BTW, I would get on it ASAP cuz you have "bricks" loose in your cat and they WILL come out and get caught up in your muffler and than you will be replacing it aswell, not to mention that where ever it breaks loose and pluggs up your muffler is where you will be sitting, waiting on the tow truck !!!

What about something like this from ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Magna...Q5fAccessories

I know the one on the jeep now isn't welded or bolted in it has clamps on it so i'm guessing the guy who owned it before me did it.

I think it would be foolish to buy this vs the link I posted prior, the Flowmaster is direct fit with 02 bung. just my 2 cents

with a universal your gonna have to repipe to make it fit, you mentioned clamps are on it it's been my experience that, that connection will not seal up again becuase of the crimp the clamp leaves in the pipe and I usually end up cutting back to untouched pipe and refitting that whole cat section.
