no i took the whole LSD carrier out, put in a new OPEN DIFF CARRIER and installed a lock right locker in it. wasn't to bad only c- clips like i said, what was supposed to be the hard part? the carrier?

Getting the bearing preload set and the pinion depth set up so it doesn't make noise is the hard part. Like I said, let us know how bad she screams.

ha ha well you were right, she screams! not way bad but enough to bother me, so how can i fix or adjust this? i can take it to my buddy OR i could learn how to do it

You are destroying your ring and pinion. Go buy a book on differential service from barnes and noble and learn how to do it properly.

On this last one I just could not get it right and gave up and took it in. they sent the wrong bearings (same number with 1 differant letter) was just enough off it would not work. took a micrometer to se the differace.

its good that your trying to learn but this is something you should have someone who knows what there doing do it for you while you watch and learn that way, or have them beside you helping you every step along the way.

haha took it out and put new shims in, adjusted the torque on the back of the pinion, now it works great!! no howling and the locker made a world of difference!!! tested it out at 4 in the morning, neighbors didnt like that to much but it worked great!! thanks for the help everyone!
