I accidently topped off my coolant with Dex cool *pic*

I wasn't paying attention and I topped off the coolant reservoir my Jeep with the coolant (diluted) I use in my Firebird. I don't think this will hurt anything but I want to make sure. Here's a pic of what I used. I guess I poured 3 or 4 cups in the tank.

Yep. Green was in it. I just grabbed the wrong jug. But, the reservoir was almost empty so I guess it will mix with the green in the radiator.

I don't know how it is now, but roughly two years ago there where many problems with dex-cool forming sludge when contaminated. Meaning that it was mixed with regular antifreeze or mineralized water.

You can probably thank Jiffy lube for that.

How much did you add? Might be better to just dump the radiator and pump out the reservoir then refill. Takes like 40 minutes of your time anyhow

you may consider doing a flush/fill if the 2 are mixed....

you can take the reservoir out with just a couple of screws.
and if you think it got in the radiator, just twist the plug at the bottom and flush it.
Better safe then sorry.

look into prestones flush kit, its allows for your garden hose to be "plugged" into your coolant system doing an awesome job of flushing everything out.

I don't use the stuff in my GM vehicle. It reportedly eats intake gaskets as it appeared to do in a buddy's Suburban. Which then needed a valve job.

If you already ran the engine (cycling the Dex Cool through and mixing it up) DEFINATELY do a full flush. If you didn't run the engine, pull the resevoir and drain/flush/fill it, and you should be fine.

The problem with the Dex is that it crystalizes and coagulates when you mix it with the green stuff. My dad has a 95 Olds Aurora, which uses the old green stuff, and my mother has a 97 Aurora, which uses the orange. Dad accidentally put the orange stuff in once, and it was like lumpy brown gravy when we flushed it out.
