Hey guys it's Monday and it's 2 so my mind is wandering. Say I get the crazy idea to put long arms on my 2in bb. Now while still using the stock mounting points. What is the maximum long travel shocks I can get to have the most amount of down travel without doing damage to the drivetrain? Thhhhaaaannkkkssss.

28" is enough for me to drop a 5" coil with no problem. if you are bumpstopped alot then that shock 'should' still work. that would be maximum though. a 26" shock will probably work ok to, and it shouldn't bottom out when you compress it. never tried it on a 2" though so who knows. personally i would be you'll be dropping your coils out well before you bottom out the shock.
at 2" of lift you long arms will probbly bottom out on the frame anyways.
mine almost hit at 4"......
Longarms will not work in the stock mountingpoints, Beacuse the front axle will be infront of the jeep and the rear axle will be behind it..
with longarms you have to cut of the lower mountingpoints and the uppers are not used anymore
at 2" of lift the arms will basically be sitting on the frame........... thats with the mounts cut off.
4" is the lowest you can get away with long arms.
theres a reason long arm lifts come with 4" minimum.
Pierre I completely agree with do it right or don't do it at all. This was a hypothetical and the stock points were for the shocks not the CAs.
Also on a more serious note I am planning a 4.5 inch longarm lift with long travel suspension.
