huge hesitation

My Jeep is acting weird. When I go to start it after its sat for an hour it takes a lot of time to her started. And when I start to go it hesitated so bad it almost dies then sorta pops out of the intake. I don't think my fuel line stays primed. If it sis and I hit the fuel pressure button it doesn't shoot out. Could it be a vacuum leak our the regulator that is on the driver side fuel rail? Any help would be very appreciated!

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator or anti-drainback valve. On 1996-1998 it's part of the fuel pump assembly so you have to replace the entire unit. Not sure about 1993-1995. Somebody else will chime in.

Have you tried priming it before starting? Turn the key to the ON position without actually starting it. Do this three times or so at the end of the fuel pump buzz. Make any difference?

If I prime it first it fires right up. I hope its not something with the fuel pump!

Classic sign of a bad anti-drainback valve. It's allowing the fuel in the lines to drain back into the tank. Pretty sure it's part of the pump but I'm not too familiar with the fuel pump assembly in the 1993-1995. Still waiting for somebody to chime in about that.

The fuel filter is outside the tank in the 1993-1995. Have you ever replaced that?
