HP30 seal question for CAD bypass.

Im rebuilding an HP30 from an 88xj. It has CAD. I want to bypass it. I have read other threads and cant find my info..

Where the **** does the pass side (long shaft) seal go? There isnt an area in the axle tube for one to go in near the pumpkin. (the driver side has a machined area for the seal to fit tight. The pass side does not) I can get a seal in at the CAD box but wont it tear it up since the long shaft isnt machined smooth in that area? I Just dunno where to put this seal?

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks

Awesome. Thanks dude! There doesnt seem to be a "groove" for a seal.. I can press that Napa seal in and be good to go eh?

truth be told not sure.
i did it on a YJ CAD axle a while back. they should be the same. its just a little seal. looks nothing like the drivers side.

the ZJ HP30 i have doesn't have the CAD; i didn't want to deal with it again lol

I got it for free. I like the heavier upper CA mountings. Is there any downsides to a CAD axle that Ive overlooked? If I can get this seal crap out of the way Ill be okay.

...I hope

just the two piece axle. frankly, i think it could be a cool way to carry a compact spare axle... break one, carry a two piece with the collar in place if you break it.
