how's it going new from Minnesota

I have been on this site a time or two before looking for answers to problems I have been having but can't find anything on them.

I have a 93 grand limited 5.2 and I am having a couple problems with it that are confusing me.

1. I go start my zj in the morning to go to work it runs fantastic, I have a 20 minute drive to work she warms up before I get out of town. Then the problems start. I'll be driving and it'll cut out often(not misfire) then it stalls and I have to pull over wait a couple minutes and it starts right up no problem. This happens often but not every time I drive it. Wtf is going on with it. On to problem no. 2

2. If I drive for long periods of time(over an hour) the check engine light comes on and I get codes 51 & 52(to rich and to lean). I keep driving after the cel comes on and on light throttle it pulses. Also when I let off the throttle completely it jerks but only when the cel light is on.

If you guys have any suggestions on what it is or where to begin that would be amazing.

I already did plugs and wires cap and rotor.

Hey man, welcome to the forum! As for the first question, I don't have a direct answer, but you should take a look at the "Zj Dirty Dozen" I've linked it there for you, if you haven't tried these I would start there to look for an answer to your stalling issue. As for number two, well that one I really don't know. I'm not very knowledgeable on these kinds of issues, but there are others on this forum that are so hopefully they'll help you out. Good luck

#1 I'd test crank shaft position sensor they are very commonly replaced.

#2 really don't know

What plugs did you use? also did you change the coil?

Sounds like both your problems are a bad upstream oxygen sensor. Unplug it and go for a drive to see if they symptoms go away.

Yes, I would think so, but only after it warms up.

Only use NTK o2 sensors, by the way. Do NOT use Bosch.

That's exactly what mine was doing for the first two days, then it started stalling.

As Frog said, only use Mopar or NTK/NGK brand on our Jeeps. That goes for all sensors.

Mines been doing it for months not enough for me to worry because its pretty rare. Only happens on hot days hasnt once happened when it was 40 or below. I'll just add it to my list that keeps growing.

Back on topic I'd replace it since its pretty cheap and its used the whole time the jeep is on

I know I'm gettin here late, but welcome to the forum! Great to see another ZJ from only a bit south of me!

And yeah, 02 sensor sounds like the culprit of problem #2.
