Its funny we have the same jeep. Mine is a 96 as well.
Plus i paid like 4.50 a can for Duplicolor Vinyl and Carpet paint. If it were 8.00 its probably better to mix paint if you have the capability of doing that.

Looking at the exterior plastics on you ZJ looks like they're fading. Go look at the second picture in the link i sent you in the Private Message, and look at my plastics from the day I bought it and a day when I washed it. (Day I bought it was with the guys' leg sticking out, and washed was just by itself) Add some "Back-to-Black" to the plastics and rub it on it with force and after you complete one side come back with a dry towel and rub it again to dry it. I think it makes it look alot cleaner than the faded nest. You can buy it from Walmart in the automotive section, or Autozone. I apply it every time I wash my car and it makes a difference! And I was my car once a week, or once every two weeks depending on how I'm feeling lol.

I had some very positive results using fabric dye (RIT) on my ZJ's carpet, changed the color from grey to black and it's holding up fantastic.
I would suspect the seat covers could be done in similar fashion, and no need to deal with the stiffness of a spraycan.

Yeah. The plastics seems to be porous and absorbs the paint really well. I always thought using spray paint was hackie; it just seems spray paint has come a long way. It held up great on the back bumper and the front looks awesome. Side panels are next.

I read somewhere that rubbing it down with sheets of fabric softener can help, never tried it though.
