How to remove shifter/gear selector????

not talking about the handle, im talking about the rod and everything. reason is im going to attempt to shorten mine and if I mess it up im wondering how much of a hassle it is to swap in a new one?

as always any help is appreciated!

IIRC , it's part of the shifter assembly meaning remove the console . You'll see where to unbolt it . Probably just 4 self tapping screws in the sheet metal

Takes about 5-10 minutes to remove the console . Once exposed , take off the cable , disconnect 2 lights , should be another switch too for the brake shift actuator . All that should remain are 4 bolts/screws to remove the shifter assembly . I'd say , 15 minutes tops to get out .
