How To remove rear quarter vents??

I don't remember what thread I saw but they discussed the rear vents (between hatch and side window - vertical slats) and they had removed them for painting.
Here is a pic of the vents.. this was linked into another thread:

I made an attempt on mine but the sheet metal is thin and I didn't want to distort them out of shape.

With the hatch open, do they just pull straight rearward?
Are there safe pry points that won't tweak the pieces out of shape?

Here is the thread:

i opened the hatchet, stuck a flat head behind the back of them, and pried gently outwards, look in the vents with a flash light youll see the fasteners screws or something, those just pop out so pry as close as you can next to all of them with a flat head evenly and evenutally itll pop right off. the slides back

Thanks... you walked me right through it.

Am adding a pic to help out whoever may come up against this later.

There is only one of the pins showing in this photo. This is the center; there is one near the top and another near the bottom. Pry it straight away from the body,
AND FWIW, I didn't have any issue with gasket that overlaps the leading edge. The rubber has some flex left in it, I guess.

Air circulation. When your heater/AC blows air from outside the vehicle into it, air flows out those vents.
