http://www.wjjeeps.com/oxygen.htm

looks like 2 for Federal emissions, 4 for Cali emissions

It's possible though that they made some emissions changes for 04 and you do have 4 sensors. I would read the California paragraph and check in those locations to see if you do in fact have 4 sensors.

thanks for the link that should be what i need. waiting for the stealership to finish working on it. They said they replaced two up stream sensors for p0031 and p0051 now i've got p0135 which is a heater in 1/1 they are trying to say I will have to pay for it . but as far as I can tell a heater is the oxygen sensor and the installed a bad sensor. seing that 1/1 is upstream am I right?? It's under warranty but there is a hundred dollar dedctuable and the new o2's only have 50 miles on them think theyre trying to rob me as usual!!

I'd say if they touched the sensor and it's bad 50 miles later then it was a faulty sensor....

On an unrelated note, you have a 4.0 with the 247 transfer case? Odd combo

That is a 247, I just thought it was a odd since most 4.0s have a 242. Nothing wrong with a 247 at all, it's a great case

Not at all, and you should be getting better than that for sure unless you're just driving fast. A bad upstream oxygen sensor will certainly screw with your air/fuel mixture so hopefully it will fix it

So theyre done said they had to update the pcm to clear the code and the the new sensors were fine. Also I have the cali model with 42 oxygen sensors and back to back cats to the rear bumper. dont know about the gas milage yet.
