How do you remove dash speaker grill?

How do you remove dash speaker grill for the tweeter on a '02 Grand Cherokee? It's got a terrible buzz, should I replace it or just disconnect it?
THANKS GUYS!
JPL

pull the entire cover up that goes along the windshield.
The buzzing is a blown tweeter. replace it.

take a puddy knife or thin screwdriver and pry up one end then use your fingers to pry the rest up. Its held in by four clips.

Plastic 2-inch putty knife works great. I replaced mine with Mopar ones and they blew out too. Although I'm sure that the factory amp has a crossover, it still sends too much low-range audio to those drivers in the dash. I unplugged mine until I can get to the store for some bass blockers.

i had the same problem. i just went and bought some 1" tweeters from best buy and soldered them in. they havent blow yet. i think the factory deck has something to do with it too though. i replaced mine with an alpine and havent had one blow yet. once you get to the higher volumes with the stock deck there is too much distortion.

So are those dash tweeters 1"? I blew out my passenger side one and need to replace it soon. Maybe tonight.

Oh yeah, it's finally snowing at my house!! There's about an inch at my house right now (I live in a very low area) so I'm sure that there are 2"-3" at my friends' houses. No school tomorrow!!!

Yeah I know I'm getting excited about very little snow, but around here, an inch is a lot. I think I'll do my vehicle recovery rounds in about a half hour, after I finish my KFC sauceless hot wings.

the stock tweeters are 2" so unless you buy an OE replacement, you will have to replace both. If i were you i would just buy aftermarket ones because the stock ones are crap, they will just blow on you again. If you buy new ones you will have to rig up a new mounting bracket but it is really easy to do and worth it. check this out:

it tells everything you would ever want to know and more about your audio system.
