How do I stop my soundbar from bouncing?

The soundbar on my 5.9 is bouncing like crazy when driving because it is missing the securing fastener. I was looking up there and the threaded mounting stud is very short and it doesn't appear that I can secure it using a standard nut. Does anyone know what type of fastener that I need to buy to secure this thing? What is the thread size on that mounting stud?

Thanks,

Tom

3" Drywall screws.

How is the soundbar mounted in the back, I haven't had a chance to look at mine.

Anyone else? The center soundbar bracket consists of a threaded stud that comes straight down from the roof. However it is really short and a nut won't reach the beginning of the threads.

There is a plastic nut that fits down into the hole that secures the center of the soundbar. I just took one of mine apart a few weeks ago. I have no idea what else you might use.

Mike, would you happen to have a picture or dimensions of this part? With that, perhaps i could find something similar that would work....

I went to Lowes and found a furniture fastener that was the correct thread pattern for the stud and just barely long enough to work and it keeps the soundbar nice and still.

Do you have any more info on the fastener you used? What type and/or thread size?

It was a tee nut similar to this: http://www.lowes.com/pd_137350-37672...nut&facetInfo=

I don't remember exactly which thread pattern/size because it was over a year ago that i did it. I brought the plastic nut in with me and found something about the same size and got lucky that it worked.

Thanks for the help. It's a starting point. Off to lowes and I will see what I can find! I hope to finally not have to watch the soundbar flopping around in my rear view mirror when I drive
