How to disable the horn when arming alarm

I just purchased a 1996 Limited and the alarm always sounds the horn when I arm it. Is there anyway to disbale the horn from sounding when arming the alarm?

Thanks,

Ask your dealer about this. I believe they have the ability to reprogram some functions on the earlier ZJ's... which is NOT mentioned anywhere in the owner's manual. I believe disabling the horn when arming the alarm system may be one of the things they can do. Pretty simple job... maybe takes 5-10 minutes.

99-up WJ's have about 13 or so features (including this) that you can program yourself to suit your own tastes. You do this right through the VIC in the overhead console. Now THAT I like!

Thanks for the info. I wonder how much the dealer might charge to do this? Maybe they do it for free? Knowing how dealers are, nothing is for free unfortunately

Oh, I bet if you took it in for an oil change and asked them "pretty please," they'd probably do it for free. They used to at least.
