How to disable DRL on 96 ZJ ???

ALright... so I bought an HID kit and want to put it on. I know that I need to disable my daytime running lights.
Apparently on a TJ there is a module on the firewall that you can disconnect and bang problem solved. Does anyone know if this particular module exists on a ZJ and if so where is it located. I have been reading posts all morning and digging through wiring diagrams without much luck. I have tried covering the auto sensor with tape. Leaving the park brake on. None of these have allowed the ballasts to fire up. Any suggestions?

Don't have a 96 manual handy, but in the earlier years the DRL module is bolted to the right fender, under the PDC.

Also, please make sure you change your reflectors out if you haven't already.

my 96 doesn't have day time running lights...I can turn them on and off...as for reflectors...normal headlamps will blind others so you will have to turn them down really low...too low for even you to see.....best advice is getting the clear ones like in my sig...you can find entire lamps (turns and corners as well) as a package for just @ $150. Then you will be fine with no glare and maximize your own output.

I found the module but simply removing it did nothing.

Do the US ZJ's have a different module. If so anybody know what part number it is. The ballast and the lights work fine when I alligator clip twelve volts to them. When the motor is running I have 13.25 volts at the stock connector. If I then connect it to the new HID harness running into the ballast the lights dont activate. This is really wierd. Im thinking that maybe the connectors on the HID kit arent getting a good connection because there doesn't seem to be any other reason.

I was under the impression the DRL are programmed in the BCM. My Jeep came to Canada from the US, and the PO told me the DRL's were enabled at a Chrysler dealer in Canada.

Of course this is on a WJ. ZJ may be different.

I really wish I could help you...mine was built in Canada (from my build sheet) and I do not have drl's. Cool to have a block heater...even though I never use it.

On my 94, the DRL are manual. You flip the switch from OFF to the left puts it on AUTO. If you go RIGHT from the OFF position, you have PARKING -> HEADLIGHTS -> HEADLIGHTS and FOGs.
