*hot air* blowing through vent even when set to cold

My vent blows hot air even when set to the lowest temperature, not with A/C on. The vent is drawing heat directly from the engine compartment and I don't know what is causing this issue. I can also feel the hot air rising near the panels. If anyone here knows of this symptom and have any suggestions, I would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance. My Jeep is 95' ZJ V8 5.2L. Please help.

your air door motor is probably not working right; I have the same issue. I have to replace the blend door motor on mine. But I guess it's a little easier then the WJ's since I don't have to remove the entire dash to do it.

You could have a leak in your system. Try one of those refill cans at Wallyworld or any autoparts stores.

He says this is without the A/C. It does indeed sound like a bad door acutator (motor).

Or, it could just be the outside ambient temp is warm?

Thanks alot for the link micifus and other's comments. I'll first run the diagnostic test today and post the result here. The ambient temperature outside is pretty cold, and I'm almost certain that this heat is coming directly from the engine.

Before going further into this, I'll run the test first, but just wanted to say thanks for the advices. Will post the result soon. Thanks again.

When it's 30 deg outside mine blows warm air from the vent; on a warm day if I turn the A/C on it's almost comfortable. You are getting warm air due to the door not positioning as it should based on the control unit settting.
