Hood vents & splash guards - how do they work?
somebody has a pic from inside where I can get the idea of how it works? I can't immagine having a hole in the hood and still keeping the engine dry when, for example, the guy at the carwash points the high-pressure nozzle to it, in order to clean it: it has to make a good part of the engine wet, and I don't like that idea...

I have wide open hoodvents. But it hardly ever rains here and I never wash my Jeep. From what I understand, the way they work is there is a pan that catches the water and diverts it to a safe place. This article talks about it.

Thanx! So it's basically just a piece of metal unterneath the vent, that is inclined in such a way that any water gets where you want it to go... Nice...

Yep, I think the 5.9 pan is plastic tho. Actually I been in some serious downpours and nothing happened. But there is always a little worry :D

I got these on my ZJ

Yeah, nice job there! I wanna go that kind of way myself, only I have to put something underneath, we have some serious rains in spring and autumn, and some snow, too...
