homemade discos

So after countless hours of thinking, and staring at my sway bar i have figured a way to have quick discos. I know that you really only need to disconnect one side to get a full flex. The problem i have is, i have a high steer knuckle so i cant just get stock or aftermarket discos.

theres the passenger side sway bar link and thats the problem i have.

so i decided to go to lowes and see what they had. and i found this

and it was to long so i had to cut it down.

drilled a hole.

I went out to test it but it was a just a hair to big so i had to grind it down just a tiny bit.

sanded it down to make it nice and smooth

i painted it black but i didnt take a picture of it.

and i had to test it out by using the stairs of m[]y shed

And there you have it... i still gota test it out to make sure the other side doesnt hit when i flex it up.

Disco'ing one side will work in theory. But when my ZJ was on the lift to install my IRO kit, I noticed that once the sway bar was disconnected, the axle dropped down another couple inches. This leads me to think that the side you don't disconect won't be able to droop quite as much as if you disco'ed both.

this is at my maximum flex, i mean i had the rear passenger side wheel well literally resting against the tire while the drivers side rear was barely touching. the front i had the driver side tire hitting the back of the fender.(ive trimmed that since) and this is with NO swaybar. ill try to get another picture at the same place probably in the same tread pattern i was in before, but i cant do it for a while cause the place i did it has that section closed off for now. I will get a picture of the articulation with just one undone problably this weekend soe time and you guys can be the judge, im actually curious too.
