Ok, I have one mostly done, I got to do some touch up on the welding and run a piece of small angle iron for the pinch seam and then paint it. I bought some 5/16 self tapping bolts today to attach it. It might be rough looking but it will serve my purpose.





Oh yeah, the small piece of angle iron under the main tube is coming off, I just haven't cut it off yet. I also plan on getting some more tubing and make the ends turn towards the Jeep so it is more like a stretched C shape.

HMMM...Thats kinda what I was expecting based on your previous description. I really think you need to add another piece for under the rocker panel. If you look at this pic of KOR's rails, the rail that runs in the middle offers support along the entire rocker panel when the jeep is sat down on it.


With your sliders the way they are now, any pressure on the outside rail will make the attachment arms act like a lever trying to wrench your bolts out.

I plan on running a piece of steal along the tube to cover the rocker panel. If it is attach at the pinch seam and on the frame, I don't think the bolts would pull out of the frame, if you put downward pressure on the slider it should be pulling on the the pinch seam and binding at the frame, which will not get it enough leverage to pull the bolts out, right.

Ah wait I see what you are saying. Any pressure pressing up on the rail might pull the bolts out.

Here is a pic of the sliders i made before grinding. They are similar to the old KOR's but much beefier and stick out farther. The upright angle across the arms is also mounts to the underside. It looks like you could do something similar.

those welds look horrible, geezzzz, atleast clean up the metal before you weld it

I did clean up and and removed the rust before I welded, I don't weld pretty but they hold my weight while jumping on them. Like I said I got to cleam them up.

Well unless you weigh several thousand pounds, jumping on them is zero indication to how strong they are

What size is the tubing? Are you planing on capping the ends as well?

2in, a little over 1/8 thickness. Yes I plan on capping the ends or doing something with them.
