Hitch

Hello to all, sorry for the new thread I just didn't want to hijack the hitch/reciever topic.

I need a hitch on my truck. All I am towing around is a wave runner one season out of the year, so I don't need anything big at all. What is a reputable hitch distributor and what class should I get? Is the bolt on an easy project with a few extra hands?

Thanks a lot.

I am assuming that it is just bolt on, correct? A guy I know said to take it to U-Haul because you had to weld? I don't think that's correct..

It'll almost certainly be a bolt-on.
However, U Haul can be a pretty expensive place to by a trailer hitch.
Which brings up my question.
Do you want a trailer hitch, or a receiver?
I've seen more than a few factory receivers on eBay going for around $85.00.
What I haven't seen is the wiring harness being sold anywhere used, which I find surprising since it's so easy to remove...

If you get a class III receiver, you can put one of those way kewl covers on there that look like a little boat propeller and spin as you are driving down the road.

Yeah I am assuming that the receiver is the actual bracket that mounts to the (gas tank bolts?) under the car. So I will need this, a hitch, and a ball. After researching a bit I think I'm going to go with the Class 3. You think ebay will be the cheapest?

eBay will probably be the least expensive route, if you don't have a bone yard nearby. Don't forget the "For Sale" forum here too.
