High Output Altinators For WJ?

I need a high out put for my WJ for 6 lights subs and winch. Who makes a good one for the 4.7L?

Look at Mean Green alternators...

Why do you think you need a new one though? Is it not keeping up with electrical demand? WJs already come with pretty large alternators.

You're better off just going to a stereo shop and asking them. They definitely know how to handle electrical systems that draw a lot of power.

I feel your pain my 03 4.7 needs a larger alt. With heated seats, heated windsheild washer fluid, defroster, lights on, an two amps it can drag the output down to like 10 volts at a stop light and sits at about 12 at steady cruise. with everything off I am right back at 14. Mean green is EXPENSIVE!!!!

I don't think you'll ever find one big enough to power all that at once. My 12,000 pound winch (6.6 hp) draws 450 amps at full load.

Go with as big of an alternator as you can reasonably go and when winching, turn off all lights, fan, stereo, anything electric, and rev the engine. The battery will still drain so you'll have to winch in intervals, letting the battery charge in between.
