More HP!!!!!!

Hi all.

First I would like to wish you all a happy new year. I know this year is going to be good cause i FINALLY got my Jeep

I have a couple of questions tho. The Jeep i bought is a 2001 WJ Limited with the 4,7ltr V8 as of now the engine has about 222 HP ore 223HP but I have seen that the newer V8 has 269HP or something. How do I get my Jeep to also become a "high output" WJ?? what parts do I need and are there any problems I should look out for if I take this step? Hope you all can help the "newbie"
Again thanks for all the previous help I have gotten.

Best regards
Øystein Gundersen, Norway

Some people swap out for the cams and intake with the H.O. parts, you will get some pretty good gains but those are the only parts you can swap unless you get an entire H.O. assembly or tear down your engine, which will be waaay too expensive. All the part numbers and information here: http://www.wjjeeps.com/ho_engine.htm#PARTS

There was at one time a kenne bell supercharger for the standard 4.7 that could easily add 100 hp+, a forum member has one. Not sure if it is still produced though.

A european company also has a stroker kit, but it's more than the price of the Jeep and does not offer significant power gains like other stroked engines. www.krcperformance.com is another Jeep/Mopar engine tuner company.

hmm ok.

Do you have any idea of what kind of HP I am looking at with just changing the cams and intake? I was actually considering going for the supercharger but the thing is that I am going to be using this as my primary car. And I'll bet my left nut on that fuel consumption goes from bad to off the wall with a super charger (could also have something to do with my right foot) and when the fuel price is 8$ pr gallon you can imagen...
