High Millage Question?

i am thinking about buying a 2000 jeep grand cherokee that has 233000 miles on it. is this to many miles or if i kept good care of it will it still have lots of life left in it?

thank you:cheers2:

i'd say WAY too many. BUT, if they have all the maintenance records so you know all the fluids were changed regularly, and what has an hasn't been replaced, it might be ok. I would only buy it if there were records. That way you wont run into any surprises.

If its cheap, do it.

I have no issue with buying high mileage vehicles, especially a jeep

What motor does it have? And if the body is still in good condition you could always do motor swap later if it does go. If its cheap why not?? Its probably mostly highway so its not like its been beat to heck.

it has the 4.7 L (287 CID) PowerTech V8

they want 5 grand for it, i blue booked it and with the miles it still books at 7 grand.

I would go for it! Heck I have a couple bud's that close to that and there's and they run fine. Just change all fluids and do a really good test drive and check over! Maybe you could talk him to $4000-4500. What T-case does it have?

I think you messed up. I blue booked it and got about 4300 for a lardeo. Whats really weird is that the limited is about 4000. Did you add extra stuff to it??

heres the link for the laredohttp://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...itions=#survey

it's not worth 5 grand dude. no way . i got an 01 with 89,000 miles for 7 .

nocluejimbo 03-18-2009 02:37 PM

5000 is ridiculous. I just paid $6000+ this summer for an '02 with just over half the miles and felt like I would have paid too much if it weren't immaculate.

Hey my buddy is getting rid of his 2000 and he has only put like 10,000 on it since he got it. He is gettin rid of it cause he wants a diesil truck cause he baught a quad and has a big boat. Check it out, he is takin offers too. It is really nice jeep and low miles exsp. compared to that one.
