I don't remember any problems with the radio going out. It was the ground wire that went to the power windows and power locks. I just removed the boot between the door and the door casing and the broken wire was pretty easy to spot. The insulation on a couple of other wires was cracked as well. I had to tape them to prevent future shorts. If you have door speakers it is possible the speaker wire was shorting or open. That could cause problems with the radio.
