Help needed code P0720 Output speed sensor malfunction

I meant P0720 Output speed sensor malfunction

I just fitted an brand new speed sensor in the transfer case to fix this error, and i jet 100 yards down the road and it comes on again.
Does anyone have any ideas?
It came with a new connector that I have not used (didnt want to cut into my harness if I didnt have to).
Is there a 2nd location this sensor could have gone bad at?

What year, and which transmission model? The speed sensor(s) are on the transmission, not on the transfer case.

Did you try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes after the change?

Its early !!

The output speed sensor in located on the left side(drivers side)at the rear of the tranmission.
I didnt disconnect the battery, just reset the codes with my code reader

Seriously getting miffed at this jeep.
Just 1 issue after another.
How long will the engine last if it sounds like the rods are chattering a little?
It could be knock, Stuck lifter or anything at his point. - so much for a "rebuilt engine" 10k ago !!

that code is for the transmission output speed sensor, not the speed sensor that runs your spedometer; which is on the transfer case.

as for the knock, take it back to the place you got it rebuilt, if they didn't give you a 12k mile warranty i'd be amazed.

That was it, woo hoo, no more Service Engine lights.
Now new problems, rear lamp failure, rear liftgate dent preventing opening, find spare wheel, bad cooland sensor error (broke clip) oh, and chang muffler.
The list keeps going, but what do you expect at 223,000

Thanks for the diagram, i never would have found it under all the grime, at night, in the dark without knowing roughly where to look
