HELP!!! Got a flat tire at work and the liftgate won't open

I got a flat, and my liftgate won't open to get the spare out I thought it may be frozen, but I can't hear the click of a solenoid. The window on the liftgate won't open either. I looked in the owner's manual and under the hood, but I can't find a fuse for this that might have blown.

Any ideas? I can probably get the spare out one of the rear doors, but this POS is starting to get on my nerves with its' problems.

Just get it through doors and think about the problem in the hot garage

Well, filled up the tire with air and took it to a tire repair shop about a mile away.

Anyone know what could be wrong with the rear liftgate? It will not unlock, whether I use the key fob or the power locks.

Is there anything back there pushing on the door so it won't open? (I can't believe I just typed that).

Actuator. 'Bout $80 from the dealer. Easy to replace on WJ.

Just got back from the tire repair shop and the guy said it's most likely the actuator.

WJ Fields: got any tips/info on replacing this? I'm don't even know where it's located.

What are the odds I get both these problems on the same day, and it's about 15 degrees to boot

Great...now we can all breath easier knowing there's not an elephant in the back pushing against the door keeping it from opening.

You access the actuator from the inside of the liftgate. There are screws that hold the plastic molding in place, I can't remember the exact locations but they aren't hard to locate.

Just disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the molding, and you'll see the black actuator at the handle area. Buy your new one first if you aren't sure what your lookin' for. Disassembly and installation of new part is self-explanatory once you're looking at it.

G'luck

^^^^Thanks^^^ I want get to it nefore replacing. It might be frozen- I went through through the carwash Monday night, and it worked on Monday morning, temps in the low teens.

BTW, are people aware of Wyckoff Chrysler -Jeep? I order all my parts from them and get quite a discount (everybody does, not just me), something like 10%-20%. Justin in parts has always been helpful too.
