Hella 500FFs w/ stock wiring

My stock fog lights on the bumper are trashed, one bulb is blown and the other got ripped off today. Im curious if id be able to hook up some Hella 500FFs on the stock wiring there and just use the fog lamp switch thats already there. I know the bulbs are 55W but I wasnt able to find what amp the fuse in the wiring kit is to see if it matches with the stock fuse.

Shouldn't be a problem...I'm running 3 rock lights off of the stock fog light switch in my WJ.

its doable, the hellas are the same wattage as the stocks... however, the stock wiring is thin and crappy, and yours is probably old and rotted anyway.

I'd use the stock wiring as a relay trigger, and use the hella harness for the setup.

Ask me if you want me to expand on that.

wire up the harness from the battery to the light like the included instructions say, except for terminal 85
Run the positive wire from one of your existing fog lights to terminal 85. That way the stock switch triggers the new lights, but you have new wiring carrying the current.

Also, dont buy them from walmart, buy them from an auto parts store, or order them online.
The walmart ones, for whatever reason, have thinner cheaper harnesses.

Yeah Ive been looking for them online with a site with free shipping. Walmart here doesnt carry the FFs anyways.

Edit: im sitting here talking about it with someone, whats terminal 85? is that on the new wiring harness? I need to find a wiring diagram of the new lights.

Does anyone have any pics of the brackets theyve made or bought for the 96+ grands that dont have stock ones? Or should I just go to the yard and try to find some.

look at the bottom of the relay (obviously, when you HAVE a relay in your possession)
The terminals are numbered
30 is supply
85 is trigger
86 is ground
87 is output

good luck getting them off...better bring some PB blaster and/or a torch to heat the bolt that holds them on. if, that is, you are in an area that sees any salt.

mine, after 3 years of being installed have completely corroded and even with an impact, all i can do is bend the brackets...
