Hella 500 / 500FF

What is the difference besides 5$ the Walmart here sells both, "500" for 60 pair of 2 or "500FF" for 65 pair of 2.

maybe it can be something with the wattage of the bulb or it can be the angle of the beam of light. meaning the regular 600 might be a driving light with a beam of light that is narrow and and see a far distance and the 600FF might be a fog light with a wide beam of light that doesnt shine as far.
fog light

driving light

well I have the 500's in fog and driving beam and there was a little bit of a difference in the price so maybe that is it

Well the box says they are both driving lights and both 55watts and the lens is a slight bit different is the only thing i can see the FF is more of a clear lens and the regular has older style headlight lines in it.

that is the only difference between mine....the fogs have a fluted lense to spread the light better.

Did a little research of my own since I bought some today.

Quote:
Modern Free Form (FF) lighting technology perfectly coordinates the shape of the reflector with the light source, producing the most efficient possible light output. Fog lamps illuminate the roadway over a broad area without dazzling oncoming traffic, while driving lamps produce a farreaching, accurately directed light.
Supposedly the FF's put out 20% more light than standard Hella 500s.
