Heavy Duty D44a Diff Cover

If you have a stock d44a cover laying around or can get your hands on one please pm me

Blue Torch Fabworks has said they will make a d44a cover if we send them a stock cover. Price would be similar to the other covers they sell which are 139.99

here is the post on Blue Torch Fabworks website

Sweet....I dont have a spare one, obviously because there isnt any others to replace it with besides another OEM one. Way to be proactive though Ninja . Update this thread if it goes through or not.

here is a description of there Dana 30 cover

Quote:
The Dana 30 Diff cover is designed with pure function in mind. Like all of the Kryptonite Series Diff Covers the Dana 30 diff cover is fabricated with 1/4 inch steel plate for the cover and has 3/8 inch steel ring for the base. With a 3/8 inch thick steel ring the cover is built to resist "peel up" as you drag your diff over rocks and other terrain. The Dana 30 diff cover has a fill plug. The fill plugs have a cnc machined boss that extends out to protect the plug. All diff covers are shipped unpainted. All diff covers are shipped with new bolts and a fill plug for models that require one.

if nobody has one to supply i will be going to the junkyard here in a few days to search for one...

No difference other than perhaps the type of plug used - some have thread in drain plugs, others have rubber plugs.

The D44A cover on the WK is also the same by the way.

I "might know" the product designer from Blue Torch. What is the difference in the Dana44a cover versus the regular 44?

"I believe" BTF recommends using Black RTV sealant. Fabricated diff covers have welded bolt flanges (BTFs are 3/8" thick). Welding can produce undesirable warpage of that flange. Again, "I believe" RTV is the best way to insure a leakproof seal with a BTF cover.

RTV is the only way to seal the 44a. Nobody makes a gasket for it.
