Heaters Stuck on Hot?

Hi there everyone. I own 2 UK model Grand Cherokee Orvis's Ones broke and I use it for spares its a 1998 model,

I recently purchased the second as the ecu went down in my other however the new ones heaters are stuck on hot. I have had the air con regassed but everytime i put the fans on in the car only hot air will come out of the vents. The car has now been in a local garage for 9 days and they are struggling to find the fault. The air con in my old car does not work however the air will come through at the outside temp.

Any ideas please would be great.

Chris

it's most likely the temperature blend door or the motor for it, a very uncommon failure on the zj model line, but it does happen.

it could also be the temperature sensor in the climate control unit if the mechanicals check out fine.

if i remember correctly, on the automatic climate control in zj's, it is part of the face of the unit. if that is truely bad, replacement of the uit is the only fix.

i believe you can retrieve diagnostic trouble codes from the atc in a similar manner to the wj climate control, though i'm not sure on the exact procedure. and am not sure where to look for it for you.

a quick google search hasn't turned up anything for the 97/98 model, but did turn up a refernce for the early models. i'm positive the climate control changed by 1998 though.
