Headers?

Other than the 2 Headers i know of that are made for the ZJ w/8 does anyone know of any others or has anyone tested any to see which were better.

The 2 i know of are the Edels and thorley, im heavily leaning toward the Edels do to previous use with the other on other applications and i wasn't thrilled with lack of anything other than the material.

So any other makers anyone know of?

I just damaged my ypipe and I am going to try the Thorleys. Heard they are 'ok'. Doesn't instill me with confidence, but I need to repair my exhaust.

As of right now im going with the Edels unless there is something better that i have no idea about...
Thorley is nice as for build and material and chrome, but i wasn't thrilled with the merges or lack of in the tri y theory, and the motor did better with full length tubes...kinda like i expected...but so many people made such a good argument for the thorley i had to do it myself and find out...
Wasn't the 1st time i wasted money and im sure it won't be the last...just as im doing right now between 2 different brake rotor manufactures and im not so thrilled with the 1st....believe they have entirely too much cross drilling for a rotor using both cross/slotted style rotor

So you tried the Thorleys and felt they were a waste of money? Why?

The merges at there y's aren't merged right and they didn't help in the higher mid range, now the material and it's construction as per thickness is good, but it didn't help low end and wasn't as good as hedman step headers at all

Ok, thanks. So you noticed no difference in power anywhere then?

Do they fit nice? Do they use an exhaust gasket or metal to metal?

Oh there was a power difference thats why i said they aren't good in the upper mid, they choked the motor in the higher mid range rpm and out, the hedman step headers were better all around performance wise.
Are they better then the factory exhaust manifolds...yes...are they better then other headers....not hedman steps atleast

Fit was another issue that involved some rebending so the collector pointed away from the body to attach the exhaust...i should have gave up on them at that point but i fixed that blunder and went on, gaskets are used all around
