Got new Shoes for the $125 ZJ
well guys , i got my tie rod/drag link fixed , thanx jeep forum....the only trouble was the steering stabalizer being rusted into the drag link but a few good wacks of the hammer after the draglink was out , and it popped out fine...new one went in, had to adjust the tie rod for the steering wheel to be straight, i didnt take it in for an alignment but it tracks straight and im very pleased.
but on a side note, i got new rims from a buddy of mine, he said 50 bucks and a case of beer for the weekend soo 70 bucks later and these were in the backseat headed home with me
the tread has about 70 % left and i think they look great, my gas mileage has decreased a tad , not much off and im still trying to figure out how to correct my speedo for the bigger wheels, but what do you guys think ?
what do you guys think of the new shoes...not bad for 70 bucks! ??
also anybody know how to get my gas mileage back up , like do i have to adjust the ECM or is it gonna stay this way as long as i keep the wheels.
also anybody know how to adjust the speedo soo its correct again ?

You can replace the speedo gear in the transfercase speed sensor. There was just a thread on this exact problem yesterday or so. The writeup is on NAGCA, which is all mucked up right now, but the writeup was also in that thread.
What size are the new tires? Lots of rubbing?

thanx for the kind words guys, the ZJ has some body damage , the bumper is scrapped up as you can see in the pics and its stratched in various spots...the paint is decent and the wheels have the common peeling in places due to the lead weights the factory instaleld but like my dad said, driving down the road or seeing it from another car, you dont see the peeling soo who cares.
its been a good DD ....the drag link was the biggest thing its needed soo far.

Those look like stock size tires, what do you need to adjust the speedo for?

Does the actual speedo gear have to be replaced? Or can it be done at the ECM level?

"also anybody know how to get my gas mileage back up , like do i have to adjust the ECM or is it gonna stay this way as long as i keep the wheels."
Adjusting the ecm isnt going to get you better mileage back due to bigger tires.
It may correct the speedometer and figuring of mpg but your not going to gain any back.
What size are they and what size did you have before?

Has your fuel milage really gone down? You are running a tire that is larger in diameter than the stock tire. The Jeep is traveling farther on each revolution than it normally would. Your speedo is mesuring your miles traveled as if you had the smaller tires. You are actually traveling farther than what your speedo says you are. In other words your speedo says you traveled say 300 miles. You may have actually traveled 315 miles on that trip. You can correct the speed by installing a 16" tire that has the same diameter as the original 15" tire. I wouldnt mess with it myself. Those rims are much nicer looking than the original 93 style.
