Good place to buy an ECM/PCM?

My ZJ started going through the clicking routine a while back, and everything else checks out, so it's time for a new PCM. Where's a good place to buy one? Price, warranty, etc. Most of the ones I've seen so far have been "reconditioned" just by resoldering connections, but given the appearance of some of the components in mine after 12 years I'd rather buy new.

Anyone?

Sorry not to offer any advice, but what is this 'clicking' you are referring to?

It seems that every time I pull my negative battery cable after another round of trying to repair a stalling issue, the ZJ runs well for a fwe days, then back to the intermittent, at-random stalling. Today I flashed the PCM as instructed on another thread, and there seem to be a few good differences. It hasn't stalled again, yet, but I am leery.

To my knowledge there are no aftermarket Jeep PCMs. It's a Chrysler propietary product. You can get used ones and reconditioned ones. I believe Rock Auto has them. But a new one is a dealer item. There is a discount dealer on the web - can't seem to find the link right now but I'm sure someone will chime in.

I'd settle for a rebuilt with a good warranty, too. This is driving me crazy and I just can't afford all the work my ZJ's going to need. Before the PCM thing popped up I was about to do a full suspension bushing job, front seals, shocks, and U-joints.

I bought a Mopar ECM, it was a rebuilt one with a one year warranty. I bought it through Nick, kolak@aol.com.

I'll check those out. Anyone else? Any idea what a junkyard might charge for one? Figure I might roll the dice if it isn't too much.

The PCM is a 56028 300. '94 ZJ Laredo, 4.0, 42RE auto, NP231, federal emissions.

It doesn't have anti-theft as far as I know (how would I tell? It's not on the DC build sheet) but when I Google the PCM number it comes up as with AT.

Also coudn't find a *300 PCM on my 1994 Mopar parts CD.

You can read details in my other thread but I would definitely stay away from ECU Direct's R&R service (Remanufacturing & Refurbishing). I would suggest avoiding them altogether but at a bare minimum, don't do the R&R! You'll likely regret it and in the long run it is likely to cost you way more than just buying direct from Chrysler.

Whenever the outside temperature shifts from warm to cool, the CEL doesn't come on for a minute when you first turn the key to "on", then ASD and fuel pump relays chatter for another minute. During the chattering the CEL flickers. The PCM loses power at some point in this sequence, too. After lots of clicking it finally initializes and starts working.

Past posts have talked about this, although not in great detail, and I recently asked about my problem on JU and got some answers.

My left U-joint just started binding up a couple days ago, but that's another problem.

the big numbers in yours is 300 right? the 300 computers were switched at mid year to a 026 number. i have a good 026 computer if you want it just pm me. i have tested it for like three months when i had my computer fuel curve reprogramed. look in the door jamb by the latch to see if you see a plunger switch if there is on you have a factory alarm, no switch no alarm.

Do you happen to have a 406AB in that group? looks like mine is on the fritz. After everything I have replaced in the Heep, I started tapping on the computer case, and it would drop idle and spark in between the first and second connectors.
I think I have dropped about 700 dollars trying to figure this out.

The only thing I haven't replaced under the hood is the TPS, but it tested good.

I guess I'll be going for a boneyard special too.
