Good Hole Thru Firewall

Hey all,

I have a 98 Grand Cherokee and I need a hole thru the firewall to run a 10gauge power wire for an amplifier... could anyone direct me to where in the Deuce a good hole could be cuz i can't seem to find one!

Help please.

Thanks

There isn't really an existing hole to put it through, but there is plenty of room to drill a hole. I put 4 gauge wire through mine. I'll get a picture of the spot when I get home.

Is it summer yet?

I drilled a hole with a standard drill between the intake and the power booster. THere is a nice flat open spot there

Traded away the WJ to get a commuter

We finally got another Jeep after 5 years without. Too bad it's ALL stock.

There is an existing hole on the drivers side just by the booster, goes right through and comes out under the steering wheel. I have my CB cable and light wires through it

x2 i have a WJ but i searched all over the passenger side floor and kick panel, nor really a good spot to do it. i gave up and ran it thought the existing hole behind the gas pedal, and ran it over top of the engine bay to the battery.

i fit a 4awg power wire through it just fine

this is where I had mine until I got tired of looking at all those wires running across. So I drilled a hole under the ac condenser in the passenger floorboard and ran the wire through the unibody rail up to the front and it comes right out under the bat. very clean. Oh and its a 98 as well so it would be the same as yours.

this is the thread where emtim has good pics.

you people need to start checking out the rubber hoses for all the electronics in the door. I have my WJ ran through the passenger side one. I took a razor and cut a small slit for the wire to exit towards the engine bay. I could silicone it to reseal but I dont think its necessary, i've had it like this for years. I have a 0 gauge and a 4 gauge run through it together right now. The wire will end up between the inner fender (structure) and outer fender (sheetmetal), you can route it through there into the engine compartment AND its the shortest possible route.

Right next to an existing grommet in the firewall. It's straight back from the battery.
