go rancho?

I got a 96 ZJ and it has 130k miles on it with factory shocks. I think its about time I change them. I was wondering what to go with, I also need a new steering stablizer. I was thinking rancho but have heard they ride very rough. I would like to keep it under 200 for the shocks. What should I go with? Also do I need to consider longer shocks with the budget boost i installed? Let me know what are the best options you guys have found. Thanks Everyone!

If you aren't wanting to go with Rancho, try something like Monroe Gas Magnums. With the budget boost, you could measure the shocks that you have and ask the new shock "dealer" for a shock that is two inches longer.

I'm interested also. I need new shocks and was wondering on some opinions as to who likes what and why. Some personal experience would help. I've heard some good things about the rancho's, bad things about some of the monroes, and not too much else.

I ran ranchos on my 83 Ramcharger and they worked great. I have run gas magnums on the stock GC and am now running doestch tech shocks with the RE lift.

I had Rancho RS5000's on my 1990 XJ, I would definitly get them again. They supposedly keep 99% of their life after 1,000,000 miles! Don't know how true it is!
